Baller Foodtruck: Open for Business!

0
0

Hey everybody!

Exciting news: Baller Foodtruck is open! There were about a thousand different things to apply for, stacks on stacks of paperwork to fill out (no wonder there aren't more foodtrucks out there!), but we put in the drudge work and it has paid off! We hosted a secret soft opening Thursday night and it really went great! Our chef, Kurt, and I finished the service without a hiccup (okay... there were two little hiccups that were my fault, but they were minor little lessons to learn and I had SO much fun!). It really was a blast!

Iris, one of our favorite people in the world, was able to come and try the s'mores balls!

As soon as we finished, like clockwork, the sky started acting crazy!

And here's a shot from Baller's Instagram - if you want to know where you can find Baller out and about... follow! instagram.com/ballerfoodtruck

Alex and John Michael's Engagement Portraits

Hey everybody!

I could stare at pictures of Alex and John Michael all day long. They're both very model-esque, but you can also see just from looking at them that they are just really great people! I love hanging out with them and I'm lucky to call them friends in addition to being their wedding photographer. We ran around a few seldom-used Benfield Photography locations and they went perfectly with Alex and John Michael's planned outfits. Have a look at some favorites below.

Mere takes over!!

Hey everybody! It's Mere!!!!

I'm taking over Dale's blog today! Dale has written so many incredibly precious blog posts about me and today I will attempt to return the sweet gesture!!

To make this extra cheesy (if you know me, you know my love affair with cheese) I will start out with a haiku.

My love for you is
like the small fools-tale that grew
into a mullet

That was the silliest thing that has ever been typed. But if I'm being honest, Dale has surpassed any dream I had of a husband. He's constantly working to make himself better and create a brighter future for our family. I envy his perseverance quite regularly! I find myself constantly praying that Cece inherits the inner drive Dale possesses.

I'm sure some of you know this story but I'll recount it for those that don't know our history...
Dale and I had the same kindergarden class at Irving Elementary in Joplin, MO. That year, Dale had a short fools-tale. Years went by and the fools-tale grew into a full blown (blonde) mullet by the time we were in middle school! Dale and I were always friends but that darn mullet kept things from being more! haha Fast forward to the year I graduated college (Dale made it through college a liiiiitle bit faster than I did) we met back up through a mutual friend and THE MULLET WAS GONE! And now we're here.

I recently shared this fact on FB for our 3 year anniversary and it's worth sharing again:
In the 3 years we've been married, I have only cooked dinner twice and I've ran the dishwasher once!! He's a keeper!!

Ok, I'll leave you with on of my favorite pics of Dale (on our wedding day)! Sorry this post was so random. I'm sure by now you realize why Dale is the blog-writer and not me! haha

Thank you for supporting us and loving us through this daily blog!!!!!

Hey everybody!

I'm introducing a fun new family to the Benfield Blog today: the Kell Family! Maggie and her sister contacted me 6 months ago to get their parents a great Christmas gift: a Benfield Photography gift certificate! Pretty thoughtful gift, if you ask me! ;) So, the session day finally arrived and it was so great to meet the entire family in person - they're all really sweet, and I made the shoot quick and painless, as I promised! Here are some faves (aren't they a gorgeous family?!)

Gabby Mooney's Fashion Session at Fairlane Station

Hey Everyone!

Lauren here! This is one of my absolute favorite shoots! Y'all have met Gabby on the blog before with a few shoots for her music career and one for her company G-Fit. Not only is she gorgeous and so confident in front of the camera, but she has some awesome style. She's focusing more on her music again and so we decided to do another shoot!

Also, I need to give a huge shout out to Jeanne who helped coordinate and style the shoot! She's always there to help Gabby but she always ends up working way too hard and helping me too! This shoot definitely wouldn't have turned out this great without her...

And, another shout out goes to Fairlane Station! This wedding venue let us rent out the place for the shoot and it was the perfect location. The style is so unique and so fun. The owners also didn't mind when we started rearranging furniture and just made ourselves at home. Whoops! Also, everything we used was provided by Fairlane Station. Even the perfectly vintage bike!

Gabby is a great model and she has an incredible voice. It clearly runs in the family! Keep up with her on the red carpet with her brother Shay who is nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year at the Academy of Country Music on April 6th! Be sure to check out the duo Dan + Shay and then watch out for Gabby's big debut!

Ok, that was a little long winded... Now for the photos...

Check back tomorrow for a few more!

Chemistry Themed Wedding Details!

Hey everybody!

Andrea and Andrew are super smarties and have great Chemistry... literally! Their wedding theme was perfect because it reflected who they are but not in an in-your-face or over-the-top way! The subtle nods to their chemistry backgrounds were perfect! Here are some of my favorite details from their wedding in Hot Springs. {Big shout out to Shawna Young from Young Designs to executed this wedding and reception to perfection!}

Match made in heaven! I love some great wedding shoes! Ferragamo and Blahnik for the win, friends!

I LOOOOOOOOVE all the GOOOOOOOLD!!! Garvan Gardens is a gorgeous wedding venue, and when you line the aisle with gold petals, your heart skips a beat!

Andrea put a lot of thought and detail into her wedding cake design - I want it to have it's own blog post!

Such a fun color combination here. Notice how the tables are named after elements from the periodic table? The couple's table was gold... obviously!

If I had known Andrew was a LOTR fan, I probably would've talked his ear off all day long (so, it's probably for the better, haha!)

STUNNING!!!!

Tomorrow will be filled with lots of sweet moments, y'all! Come on back!

Andrea and Andrew's Garvan Gardens Wedding

Hey everybody!

Andrea and Andrew's wedding in Hot Springs was filled with a lot of special moments that I've been really excited to share with y'all! We started EARLY (by my sleeping schedule's standards), but not as early as Bo (Bo's Hair/Makeup Facebook Page), who started hair and makeup on the Andrea's girls at 5:30am. Yeah... AM. Doesn't he do such a perfect job? Andrea of course looked STUNNING!

Fast forward to the wedding ceremony, how sweet are these two?

Remember yesterday when I talked about how they were chemical engineers? Instead of a unity candle, they did a unity "experiment" - see how it turned pink when they mixed the two clear liquids?  How AWESOME!

Oh, and THIS moment.

After the ceremony, Andrew and Andrea shared a really touching moment that Mere was there to capture. Maybe my favorite of the day!

Then it was portrait time (more on this tomorrow!)...

Cute first dance pics!

Andrea and I have become pretty close over the past couple years through email, so every shoot we did (and especially her wedding) it was as if we were just great friends! I love that!

Such a fun party!

Saint Louis Engagement Portraits of Sarah-Marie and Jon

Hey everybody!

When we were in middle school, just past the point where girls were "gross," we ALL had a crush on sweet little Sarah-Marie. She's as adorable as they come, truly very sweet, and always wore the best clothes.  How I remember this, I don't know!

Time might have changed but Sarah-Marie has not! Sweet, adorable, fashionable, and now... she speaks fluent french.  C'mon.

I just met Jon at the engagement shoot in St. Louis, but I already knew he was smart (see above paragraphs). Turns out, he's as genuine as she is, is a foodie like her (and me), and has a brillian business mind! Quite the guy!  Sarah-Marie told me he was really looking forward to having their pictures taken, which is a definite bonus!

So, I made the trip up to STL and wouldn't you know it... it started raining about 30 minutes before the session! Good thing we're good at hiding that sort of thing, and Sarah-Marie and Jon were the best sports! They made the session about the two of them (as it should be), and I was able to capture some really great images!

Be ready... more coming tomorrow!

More St. Louis Portraits of Sarah-Marie and Jon

Hey everybody!

Believe it or not, I saved my favorites for today! These two were obviously so easy to photograph... really natural in from of my camera, and I really can't get enough of Sarah-Marie's style! You can tell that her time in Paris has influenced her in a really great way (oh, hello Louboutins!); it really just put the entire shoot over the top! I love these...

Spring Portraits of Cece

Hey everybody!

This kid keeps growing... no matter how hard I try to stop her. She remains as sweet as could be, and still thinks everything I do is hilarious, so I'll take it!

Anyway, now that Spring is here Mere and I thought we'd throw her into some darling clothes, find a cute location, and start snapping. Cece of course went along for the ride and had a great time.
