Hey everybody!

Alex and John Michael have been away in Europe on their honeymoon (making me very jealous through their instagram posts), but they get back today so I thought I'd post a couple shots of some of my favorite details from their wedding day.

One of my very favorite colors for wedding details is blush pink... it's soft and sweet (like my favorite weddings are!), it's not overpowering, and creates a really romantic feel. Alex had blush details everywhere I looked!

If you know Alex, she's a huge Harry Potter fan (like me!), so I loved seeing little details incorporated into her wedding reception that gave a little nod to our literary hero.

This cake used a couple golden snitches on it, another HP nod. What I love is that if you didn't know what it was, it just looked like a fancy gold embellishment. So cool!

Sometimes I dream of taking the bouquet home with me and using it as a pillow - hahaha! Fo' reals, though... this bridal bouquet is DREAMY.

You'll notice from the first collage that Alex had a pretty fab pair of Badgely Mischka shoes for the ceremony. For the reception, she switched into these personalized converse (Ellie are you reading this? Aren't these awesome?!)

Backup a little bit, here she is getting her final touches ready before her first meeting with John Michael.

We found a cool little bridge outside the church for their special first look moment - loving this series...

Then it was time to have a wedding!

Such a great feel to this image with the blush pinks in the background (the bridesmaids dresses, and the getaway car... ignore my blurry photobomb).

Haha!! Love this excitement!!!!

They really brought down the house with their first dance. VERY well done!

Gah... I love these two nerds! Big time.

Hey everybody!

haha... probably the worst picture of me ever, but oh well!

I'm writing with some very exciting news: today we sold Baller Foodtruck!

Our game plan was always to start and grow the business (which happened faster than we thought - a good thing!), and then sell it to someone who would take good care of it. We entertained a couple offers from potential buyers, but I really wanted the person who bought it to love the truck, it's concept and vision as much as I do.

It was really fitting then, that our chef, Kurt, stepped up and made a great offer. Even though this sale happened a lot sooner than we anticipated, we are excited to see Baller headed toward a great future.

I'm all about win-win situations, and this is as win-win as it gets. If Kurt shows the same passion for the truck that he has these past three months (and I know he will), I know he'll do great things with Baller. We wish him the very best of luck with his new business!

Hey everybody!

Mere and I were so happy to be back in Mexico to photograph Josh and Nickie's Excellence Playa Mujeres wedding. Nickie and Josh are truly, truly a sincere and caring couple (which you'll easily see below), so I wanted their wedding to be perfect! To me, it was a perfect day... though, we had to move the wedding 30 minutes later due to a little weather - it actually made the temperature amazing! As if I didn't love weddings at Excellence Playa Mujeres enough, I really loved seeing how the staff at EPM kick in to gear to make the wedding special (they even re-dried and covered all the guests' seats!

Anyway, look at some of my favorite moments from Nickie and Josh's beach wedding! Here is our GORGEOUS bride putting the finishing touches on before she set out for the beach.

One of my favorite parts of shooting weddings at Excellence Playa Mujeres is that the lighting is always amazing because of the way the resort it laid out. It suits our love for backlight perfectly!

The first kiss! (sorry about the videographer - he wasn't interested in planning ahead... I think his English wasn't so good???) Love this scene nonetheless!

And here, look at how Nickie is looking at Josh. SUCH a perfect moment! (and how cool that the palm trees are chillin' in the background!)

More fun emotion (and cool light) during the couple's cake cutting...

Nickie and Josh's first dance was 50% adorable and 50% endearing.

I had to end on this really sweet moment. Ahhh! My heart explodes for this!

Hey everybody!

Does it get better than wedding portraits at Excellence Playa Mujeres? I think not! Not only do we have a great view and great light, ALWAYS, but we have this adorable couple who are so in love!

Nickie is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!! And she's just darling-sweet, and a teacher (so you know she has the patience of a saint!).

Here's my other favorite thing about photographing weddings at Excellence Playa Mujeres, we have this whole other location to shoot portraits, so not ALL the portraits are just beach portraits (not that there's anything wrong with THAT!). :)

Probably my favorite little series was when we got in close and it was just these two loving on each other.

Nickie and Josh, y'all are a DREAM! I can't wait to see y'all again (ahem... maybe we head back for your anniversary every 4th of July? Haha!) XOXO!

Hey everybody!

My little baby turns 10 years old today.
Double digits.
How is this possible?

We've started the shaving/nairing stage of life, and I tell you what... I am NOT ready for it! Ellie is still so sweet, nurturing, thoughtless, loves to cuddle and snuggle, and thinks I'm the best guy in the world (which is mostly true...haha). For so long I've clung on to her sweet temperament, affection, and innocence. Now that she's been around for a decade, I wonder how much longer I can count on snuggle nights in front of a movie screen, cooking dinner together in the kitchen, and photo shoots any time I want.

Hopefully, for a long long time.
