Latrobe's Wedding Details of Haven and Michael

0
0

Hey everybody!

Normally I start each wedding with a collage of the details, but for Haven's wedding I have to show the dress first. It really was jaw dropping, and I found the best light in her New Orleans condo to photograph it in:

Okay, now we can discuss her details. Haven's embroidered handkerchiefs for her parents were really beautiful and sentimental. Her color palette worked so well with her venue, Latrobe's, and had her personal style infused (which of course is fabulous).

Latrobe's is a really unique wedding venue (the light was unlike most wedding venues I've shot it), but I absolutely loved photographing there. The staff was so sweet, and the feel was one of a kind.

Haven had her shoes custom made for her. I really love that!

I love this idea. This time capsule, of sorts, is a great way to look back over your wedding day years later as you read notes from your friends and family.

Simple and beautiful. For cakes, sometimes less is more. What we took away from this cake, however, was how it tasted. Instead of overly-sweet cake, this cake had fresh fruit and less sugar than cakes we're used to having, and it was perfection!

The story of Haven and Michael's wedding ceremony is coming tomorrow, y'all!

Latrobe's NOLA Wedding Ceremony of Haven and Michael

Hey everybody!

I was in my element Saturday for Haven and Michael's wedding. First, it was in New Orleans... one of the coolest cities in America. Second, the weather was perfect (the forecast said thunderstorms). Third, the wedding party was super gorgeous (and many are my friends). What else could a photographer ask for?

I thought these monogrammed tanks were too cute!

What a great bedroom, and what a beautiful bride.

Haven did a first look with her bridesmaids, and idea that I LOVE. Brides feel so beautiful when their best friends are ooohhhing and aaaahhhhing over them!

Then we boarded a carriage to head to Latrobe's. It was a really fun way to travel, especially since the temperature in New Orleans was perfect that day.

I looked back from my seat and saw Haven laughing with her bridesmaids. Just stunning.

Michael was totally cute during their first meeting. He was excited, and hyper, which I found totally endearing. I love grooms who are ALL ABOUT their brides.

His reaction to seeing her is pretty priceless.

Then he and his boys busted out some cigars to celebrate. Isn't this great?

Wedding time! Latrobe's is such a unique wedding venue in New Orleans.  Here's a good look at the place, as our darling bride is escorted to her groom.

A great first kiss, if you ask me.

Check back soon for their F-U-N reception!

Latrobe's Wedding Reception in New Orleans of Haven and Michael

Hey everybody!

Is there a better way to kick off a reception than with 2nd line? I love this southern tradition! Again, take a look at how Michael looks at Haven.  So, so sweet.

First dance time!

Another southern tradition I adore: Cake Pulls.

And then it was time for a toast. Still... eyes on each other!

You'll notice Benny Bride Chelsea here - these four were roommates (which had to be a BLAST!).

I had to pop in for a selfie!

Y'all, the party was hopping. I spy Chloe from nomadenvogue.com looking super stylish, obviously.

Party pics with the bride and groom = my favorite.

These two (especially Annaleigh) had some prettttty amazing air guitar skills.

These glowy light sticks were super fun (and were foam in case you whacked someone). I loved the ambiance they created.

Everybody had so much fun.

Eh... not sure about these two. I wonder how they got those beads.

So the end of the night at Latrobe's ended just past midnight, but pretty much everybody was still there, so we had one of the most epic sparkler lines in history.

Oh wait... one more... before the couple left through the sparklers, Mere caught this moment inside as the guests were awaiting their exit. Perfection.

Alright, y'all, portraits are coming! Definitely come back soon!

Riffraff Dallas Grand Opening

Hey everybody!

The fam (Ellie, Cece, Mere, and I) decided to make a road trip to Dallas for Riffraff Dallas' grand opening on Friday. It was love at first sight!  This store is so beautiful!

The welcoming party wasn't too bad either. ;)  Champagne for everyone! (except Ellie and Cece... obvi!)

The store filled up quickly once 2pm hit (there was a line down the sidewalk before they opened the doors!) and I found myself taking party pics after party pics after party pics!

Kirsten hand painted this! I'm always in awe of that girl!

The Riffraff Dallas team! I love all these girls, and so proud of them!

Katie Henry helped with the design of the store, and totally knocked it out of the park!

S'cute!

Benny Bride Signe was on hand to give fashion tips to Riffraff customers.  She's so fancy!

There's a lot of instagram fame in this picture! :)

Aw... my babes!! LOVE them!! :)

As I left for the evening, I snapped one more shot of this beautiful store.

Hey everybody!

Y'all get ready for this! Haven and Michael are THE.MOST.GORGEOUS couple! Mere and I are super proud of these because we didn't have a ton of time before the sun set over the buildings in downtown New Orleans, but then again... I could just point and shoot with these two.

I just ADORE this - perfect black and white moment!

Flawless.

After the ceremony, the amazing staff at Latrobe's let us go up to the balcony and shoot a few dreamy downtown NOLA portraits. Awwwwww!!

Michael was so fun... all day!

I might just have a few more portraits tomorrow... you should check back!

Kristin and John Fayetteville Anniversary Portraits

Hey everybody!

Kristin and John's beach wedding 9 years ago happened to be scheduled during Hurricane Rita. When I asked why she picked Destin, FL for her wedding, she said, "We loved the idea of having beautiful beach wedding pictures, but as it turned out we had to have our wedding inside a room with no windows." Nine years later, she put on her dress (it still fit beautifully, as you'll see below!), John showed up in his rad car, and we shot some belated wedding portraits.

See there? The dress was a perfect fit!

I just love some beautiful golden light!

Off we went! I slowed the shutter down a bit to get some action blur here, and LOVED how it came out!

Happy anniversary Kristin and John!

Hazel Turns One!

Hey everybody!

It's time again for another Douglas family post! Just the most darling family, I love photographing all their milestones! In today's post, Weston is 3, and Hazel is 1. They're both sweeter than ever!

My man Weston got a guitar for his birthday that he doesn't put down! This boy is gonna STEAL SOME HEARTS!

And Hazel looked so pretty with her little maracas!

I think they get it from their darling parents. Is this just perfect or what?

While we were getting Hazel's cake chair ready, Weston wanted his daddy to toss him (I didn't even ask!) - pure joy, friends!  Oh, and I didn't wanna photoshop out that bandaid... I think it's fun!

Um...
The...
Most...
Beautiful!

Photographers (me included) always fight to get everyone looking at the camera, but I think this picture is even better without it!

Ahhhh!!! ONE!

Haha!!! Party time for this little babe!

A little gorgeous glow to end this blog post... thanks again to the Douglas fam for always trusting us with their important milestones!! XOXO!

Hey everybody!

Look at today's cute couple! Aggie and Troy came to the shoot with some of their own ideas (which I'm cool with!) and it was so fun to work with them!

Love this shot on Dickson...

At the end of the shoot we caught a beautiful pink sky as the sun set over Fayetteville. I love this light and color!

Maybe my favorite from the session.  The couple made this shot... I just gave them a little to do and they did a LOT with it.

Alex and Chase's Wedding Details

Hey everybody!

Alex and Chase's wedding took place in such a cool venue with a dreamy view in Ponca, Arkansas. It was my first trip to the resort and fell in love at first site with it's rustic charm and gorgeous scenery.  No wonder Alex and Chase picked it!

The bouquet from Pigmint Florist was breathtaking. They always wow me!

Oh, hello, pretty light!

My favorite detail... he he. A canoe filled with all sorts of beer!

Okay... I set the scene... tomorrow I'll share more from this charming wedding!

Alex and Chase's Wedding Story

Hey everybody!

I have a sneaking suspicion that Alex has checked the blog a few times today. ;) Sorry it's so late - I've been out of town (state, actually) and I'm just now getting home! My workday isn't like normal workdays, but I love that!  Truly, I love my job. I love my job even more when I have clients like Alex and Chase!

Alex was all smiles, all day!

Chase was pretty much Mr. GQ, as shown here during his first look with Alex.

A VERY sweet first look moment, yes?

I absolutely loved the lighting for the ceremony. Rarely do I get so lucky to have a beautifully temperate day with perfect lighting for a ceremony!

Haha... Chase is pumped!

This look is so cute during the cake cutting. Pretty much everything they did was cute. All.day.long.

Maybe my favorite. First dances are sweet. Her hands in this shot shows how relaxed and comfortable they are together (like a first dance should be!).

This girl had LeBron-esque hops to snag this bouquet - we were all very impressed.

One of the coolest getaway cars (and shots) ever. A converted golf cart (I said it was as if a gold cart and a hummer had a baby) zipped them off into the night.

Okay, my favorite post of all is coming tomorrow! Portraits!

Hey everybody!

It's portrait day for Alex and Chase! Like I said yesterday, the venue was a dream and the lighting was divine. That plus our sweet couple is all we needed! Like we often do, we did two little mini-portrait sessions with them (one before the wedding, and one after) - both turned out great! Have a peek!

Sydney's Fayetteville Senior Portraits

Hey everybody!

There are two sides to Sydney, and we captured both during her senior portraits here in Fayetteville. First, she's so sweet and totally gorgeous. She's a darling girly-girl when she wants to be. However, she's tough and competitive as well... she'll run circles around you on a basketball court. It was so fun bringing that side out during the shoot too! Here are some of my favorites we shot...

There's a little bonus hitting the blog tomorrow :)

Casey Family Fayetteville Portraits

Hey everybody!

I always know it's going to be a good shoot when it's Chelsey and Josh. They are the most photogenic friends I have I think, and are always so in love in front of the camera! For today's shoot, we get to insert the newest member of the Casey family, Beck, who is as sweet and precious a boy as you'd ever meet. He was full of hugs for me by the end of the shoot, which melted me completely. Off we go!
