Hey everybody!

I'm having an incredible time here in Aspen. Today I shot a gorgeous bridal portrait at a private home and it's to die for! Friday I'm going to shoot one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever attended. But yesterday... yesterday I got to shoot for ME! I hiked and strolled my way around Aspen and found such beauty. Hey everybody!

Haley and Jake had a beautiful wedding that was executed to perfection by Shawna Young and her team at Young Designs. The ceremony was held at Central United Methodist in Fayetteville on a PERFECT July day, and they transformed the Fayetteville Town Center into such a gorgeous location for the reception. Hey everybody!

We place conditions on a lot of things. This week, I was betrayed by a friend of mine. It hurt really badly, but I forgave them. However, in my forgiveness, which was done out of love and grace, I put a condition on it, which was done out of selfishness. When we forgive like the Lord forgives, it needs to be COMPLETELY out of love and grace. Selfishness should have no part in it. I apologized to my friend for this conditional forgiveness and was able to forgive them completely. In all things, the Lord is trying to draw us closer to Him. In all our struggles, He uses it to teach us something. Remember to stop and ask yourself what God is trying to show you and teach you.

Hey everybody!

First, I'm so thankful to get to shoot places like this, and couples like this. I'm not allowed to say names here, so please respect the couple and don't repost or share names if you can identify the couple. They were kind enough to let me post this and I want to respect them by not including their names for internet search.

Second, OMG... this wedding was a dream. A literal dream. I can't believe what I was able to work with here! Weddings in Aspen are my new favorite (except for cell service... haha!). Aspen Mountain is such a gorgeous view and such a special wedding venue. Here is a favorite wedding portrait we were able to capture while the sun was setting over the Aspen mountains... (big thanks to Chelsey for making the trek to Aspen to shoot alongside me!)

Hey everybody!

EIGHT years! Congratulations to Stephani and Andrew on eight years of marriage today. My favorite thing about their day, looking back, was that they had all their loved ones come up to the alter and lay hands on them to pray.

Y'all, you might stop following me as much as I share my faith on here and my opinions, but I don't care... haha! You HAVE to have Jesus in your marriage. He holds it all together when we as earthly, selfish beings cannot. My hope is that all my couples involve Jesus in their relationship, that y'all pray together, and practice love as He loves us.

Thank you, Stephani and Andrew for setting such a great example of what it means to have Christ in the center of your relationship. I'm blessed to know you both, and I hope you know how much of an encouragement you are to those around you.  I wish you both the very very best!

Hey everybody!

How exciting!  I've been featured in Ceremony Magazine - a fabulous resource for Los Angeles Weddings, Weddings in San Diego, and all the way up to San Francisco! It's always such an honor, and as I've been photographing more California weddings (I loved my last wedding in Los Angeles recently of Morgan and Jon!)

This wedding at L'auberge Del Mar outside of San Diego is one of my favorite all-time weddings because of the lighting involved! (oh, and the couple involved, of course! Love you Maggie and Kevin!)  This was the wedding where the bride hadn't realized that the ceremony would be taking place after the sun set so we discussed bringing in professional lighting which made a world of difference for the ceremony.  Anyway... enough blabbing from me... check out the feature here:

Hey everybody!

It's my baby girl's 12th birthday today!  That seems so nuts to me. On one hand, time has flown by and it seems like she should still be my little baby.  On the other hand, she's more mature than I am. Haha!  She has my heart, though, and I just think the world of her.  She's an incredible big sister, and a thoughtful and sincere daughter.  I'm blessed to have her in my life.  Happy Birthday, Baby!

Hey everybody!

I have special permission from the bride to post these bridal portraits we took a couple days before her wedding in Aspen.  I love photographing in Aspen... the scenery is to die for! When I got to Aspen, I shot a few images at Maroon Bells (check my instagram @dalebenfield) for those, but then the bride was thinking of a different spot. We weren't sure where we were going when all of a sudden a sweet lady asked us if we wanted to use her backyard. We walked through the most gorgeous house made almost entirely of glass and then out to a mountain and a pond and an oh-em-geee scene.  Seriously, I was immediately inspired with the Aspen scenery that shooting these bridal portraits was a breeze!  Check out my favorite Aspen bridal portraits below!

Hey everybody!

I was at Big Cedar Lodge, specifically Top of the Rock, for a wedding this past weekend and I saw the most incredible sunset. Since I was there working at a rehearsal dinner, I had my camera on me and was able to capture this magnificence that the Lord created. I'm blessed to see the things I'm able to see.
