Hey everybody!

On this day five years ago, I had a new first: the bride and the groom jumped into the pool at the wedding reception in front of my camera! Kane and Megan are so fun! Fun is a great ingredient to a long happy marriage, as Megan and Kane demonstrate. I'm so happy for them and wish them a lifelong more of fun and love!

Hey everybody!

I announced yesterday that I am starting a new trend in photoshoots, the instagram grid shoot! Yay! I hope bloggers and ig'ers from all over hit me up to take advantage of this fun new idea in photo shoots! Andrea, who is a successful actor and model in Los Angeles recently got an instagram grid shoot and I'm obsessed! I'm going to split this up into a couple posts because there are so many great ones! Notice the similar editing and color aesthetic good for a consistent instagram grid :)

Hey everybody!

So, Andrea Hunt is kinda famous! Her video reel has oh... you know... JOHN STAMOS! Haha! But what's great about her is that she is so sweet and humble. She told me even though she's had success, there is still so much rejection. And, what's more... she told me she keeps a stack of $5 taco bell cards in her car to hand out to homeless. What a sweetie!

Anyway, like I said yesterday, she and I got together to work on a photoshoot for her new instagram grid aesthetic - this consistent shoot will look great on Instagram - I'm excited to see how she uses it! Here are more of my favorites from Andrea's social media photo shoot...

Capital Hotel in Little Rock - my favorite - is where Aly and Andrew got ready for their beautiful big day. It always has amazing light!  Then, they had a darling ceremony at the Junior League of Little Rock with a jaw-dropping room flipped reception.  Lastly, if you follow me on snapchat, you'll how incredible the band was (Intensity), but if not, the last picture will have to do. Hey everybody!

Major kudos to Chelsey who lead shot Ki and Kevin's Fort Smith wedding recently - she did a great job of capturing details, sweet moments, and beautiful portraits. I'm thankful Chelsey is on my team!

I met Ki years ago when she helped coordinate weddings I would photograph. She was always such a complete sweetheart and had such a servant heart. What amazed me in the most wonderful way was to see her servant heart on her wedding day, as she and Kevin made a specific point to serve their wedding guests the cake. Use a sweet sentiment and heart felt thanks for sharing their day with them. Here are my favorite images from the wedding...

They are such a sweet couple and welcomed the most darling baby boy. My favorite part of the session was when his little baby cousin posed in a picture with him and couldn't take her eyes off hi (to be fair, neither could any of us).

Hey everybody!

A little know-how can go a LONG way on a wedding day.  Today I want to share a quick trick I used for Justin and Ryan's wedding to create a make-shift studio for the bridesmaids pictures (and the getting dressed photos.)  When the planner from Pop Party in Dallas told me the bride would be getting dressed in a less-than-inspiring conference room, I put on my thinking cap and took a quick stroll through the venue to find a location with better lighting. I walked in to this room and found my solution.

Placing the bride near the white curtain resulted in some harsh lighting coming in from the window.  However, I had my assistant pull and hold the semi-sheer white curtain out to cast a shadow on the bride, but just a light white shadow.  The result was exactly what I had pictured, so I placed each bridesmaid with her for their quick, easy, perfectly-lit portrait.  Check them out below (literally didn't have to photoshop a single thing!). ***photographers: want more tips? I've been on the road again - this time to the stunning Trinity River Audubon Center (TRAC) for a gorgeous wedding. The outdoor location hosted the ceremony at sunset, and then the inside (with incredible architecture and lighting) was transformed by Pop Parties into a dream reception. Take a look at my favorite moments, like the first meeting with the bride and groom, and their super energetic reception complete with confetti.
