I am so happy to say I booked Emily and Ford's wedding at a Villa near Florence Italy! OMG! What a great year this is turning out to be!

Hey everybody!

It seems like my feet have been all over the country in the past 30 days! I've already made two trips to Las Vegas for Benfield Photography and I'm loving all this travel right now! Recently Bonnie and I attended WPPI (wedding and portrait photographers international) and had the best time hanging with my lab - Miller's Professional Imaging - and shooting and eating in one of the coolest cities in the U.S.

This session, which we shot for Bonnie's blog (bonniedoesitagain.com) was just outside of Las Vegas at the 7 Magic Mountains - a ridiculously cool art installment in the desert. Hey everybody!

This post is kind of a continuation from yesterday (if you missed the 7 Magic Mountains photoshoot, check it out!). Bonnie and I also drove out into the desert for a fashion portrait session. By desert, it was actually a fifteen minute drive from the LV strip, so it's not like camels and hot sun and no water type of thing. Haha! But it sure looks killer! Bonnie is such a great model (and did you see on her Instagram that she got signed by a modeling agency in LA?  Woohoo!)

Hey everybody!

For months I've been hearing about the Kindred Barn and about how I need to shoot there. When Lindsey from Tesori and I were planning our most recent collaboration, she mentioned it as a possible venue and I immediately said YES. We had our venue, and our Hayley Paige dress, but we needed help with coordinating...

Enter Details Weddings and Events - I love working with Amy and Pam... down to earth, super sweet, and creative! They did the leg work for so much of the design.  All the way down to that incredible marble cake from Jennifer at Shelby Lynn's Cake Shoppe.

We also got Pigmint involved, who created the bouquet, two wall installments, and a bunch of other little details. Killer, as usual.

Lastly, our model needed pampered by having her hair and makeup done by Bo from Blonde in Fayetteville.

I'm so happy to get to work with such talent!

Hey everybody!

This trip to Los Angeles has been so productive! I have had shoots pretty much every day and I'm so thankful for these couples and families! My latest shoot is a super sweet family who I met at Lake Balboa Park. I did a little research and discovered that the Cherry Blossoms were blooming and I knew it would be great for portraits! Lake Balboa Park has some of the prettiest Cherry Blossom trees in Los Angeles. How cool are these fun family pictures? I took a couple of beauty shots for myself too (at the bottom). Enjoy!

Hey everybody!

Wiley and Taylor pulled off the best April Fool's I've ever been a part of: they got MARRIED at a fake birthday party!  When guests arrived at George's Majestic Lounge April 1st, they thought they were celebrating the 40th birthday of Boom Kinetic frontman, Wiley Seeger.  After being presented with a birthday gift from fiance Taylor, a killer Gibson acoustic guitar, they snuck off to get changed.
Amanda from Bates-Reed Brides then sprung into action converting the event into a surprise wedding, passing out champagne and a wedding invitation, and I just sat back and watched as amazement filled the room.

They came out to a brass band playing the Beatles' All You Need Is Love, and as the bride walked to the stage she was met with loud applause and an overjoyed groom.  His dad performed the ceremony, which was the perfect added touch to this already emotional ceremony.

After the wedding, I pulled the newlyweds out onto Dickson street for some nighttime wedding portraits.  My favorites are below.  Congratulations Wiley and Taylor!

Hey everybody!

Nashville is one of my favorite U.S. cities, for so many reasons: great food, cool breweries, friends of mine who live there, and picturesque backdrops for engagement portraits. Recently I made the 8 hour drive from Fayetteville to the Music City to shoot a couple sessions and catch up with some friends. Kathleen and JD are some NEW friends who happen to be getting married there in December and I couldn't be more excited to shoot their wedding. Even though it was raining all weekend, these Nashville engagement pictures turned out killer. Take a look!

Hey everybody!

My favorite dentist is getting married. ;) Beth is probably the nicest person I've ever met.  Yeah... even nicer than my mom, and that's saying something.  Ok... ok... it's a tie.  And speaking of kindness, I just LOVED the way Landon talked to Beth throughout the shoot. He's a keeper! Anyway, I love spending time with this couple, and we had a lot of laughy times during our engagement shoot all around Fayetteville.  I'm looking forward to their wedding because come on... this is a beautiful couple!

Hey everybody!

Ellie and I have had a whirlwind of a day! She's definitely the coolest almost-13-year-old on the planet, has great style, and is quite the model.  We shot around Fayetteville and then had a photoshop class where she edited these images.  I am so proud of her.

Isn't this crazy?  If you go back into the blog archives you can literally see her grow up!  I can't believe how old and mature she is!

Hey everybody!

With an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms leading into the week of the wedding, I think everyone was getting a tad nervous.  My 15 year streak of getting great wedding portraits without rain was looking pretttttty grim. And as I woke up that morning to the sound of thunder and pouring rain, I thought it just might be the day the streak died.
