Photographers: My New Preferred Rental Company

Hey everybody!

I've done posts on here about "trying before buying" when it comes to expensive camera equipment, as well as renting different equipment not in your normal bag to ignite some inspiration. Lately, I've done both. I was approached by ATS Rentals about giving them a look, and since I'd grown unhappy with my previous company (it was bought out by a big group and made a lot of annoying changes), I said yes!

First of all, the process was super simple. I love a good streamlined process, as you know, and they made it really easy to get my order. Another bonus... they actually had my gear ready to ship two days early and sent me an email and asked if I'd like a couple days complimentary. Um... YES! It was great to get to play around with the gear before I took it to a wedding.

In this post I'm going to share about the flashes I got from them. I have been wanting to set up multiple flashes at a wedding reception (so I don't have to bring my big ol' light and plug it in somewhere) so I thought I'd give this a try to see how easy and effective it could be in a real wedding/reception situation. Turns out... it's extremely easy! After getting passed the initial set up of the two Canon 600EX-RT flashes (I used to just use master and slave functions from different models) I was good to go for the entire night. That's how I got the shot below (notice I used a flash to backlight them here).

I know I'm not a salesperson, and never intend to push product, but I totally recommend ATS Rentals!

Talk to you soon,
Dale
