Sunday Superthoughts: Humbled.

Hey everybody!

I can't help but feel blessed. Recently I had the unique opportunity to photograph a wedding in a place I didn't think I'd ever photograph a wedding: Alaska!  The dream-come-true job was such an encouragement from me because the bride, Julie, just did a search for photographers from all over the country and chose me to come to her hometown of Fairbanks for her wedding. It's such a touching sentiment.

When I flew to Alaska (that's a long flight!), I landed in Anchorage. Anchorage is just about the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I connected there and took a one-hour prop-plane flight to Fairbanks. Let me say this... it was the most beautiful hour of my life as I started out the window at what the Lord created. Such beauty. I couldn't peel my eyes, or my camera phone, away from the window.  My time in Alaska was an adventure for sure, as is any time you find yourself in a new place, or with new people, or new surroundings.  I'm thankful that God uses things like this to grow me and shape me more into the man He wants me to be. I know that I am nothing... and that it is from God that these blessings are on me.  I'm not a self-made man. I'm a tool the Lord uses for His kingdom.

So, yeah... I can't help but feel blessed. So many out there in America (and the world) are looking for work that makes them happy and fulfilled and allows them to pay their bills.  God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams to set me up with a profession that does that for me.  I hope I share with you all enough how thankful I am for you.  I have so many clients who have been so loyal to me, so excited for me, and such an encouragement to me that I don't even know what to say.  Thank you sounds like too little.

Talk to you soon,
Dale
