Hey everybody!
I'm straying a little bit from the authors of my Sunday Superthoughts. As much as I love Mraz and Emerson, only Shakespeare can say this so elequently.
What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name, would smell as sweet.
This famous soliloquy that Juliet utters to herself means that we assign names to things, but they have no bearing on how fair (or not fair) something is. Wouldn't a rose smell as pretty if it were called something else?

I thought this quote was appropriate to discuss the name of MY baby with y'all! Before we found out the gender of our little girl we were debating names (think Ross on friends: VETO!), but as much stock as I was putting in a name, it doesn't change how sweet our little baby is going to be. That being said, I love what we decided to call her:

Cecelia Ruth Benfield! She will actually go by "Cece!" We both love a short, spunky nickname like "Ellie," who is actually Elizabeth! Ruth is Mere's maternal grandmother's name, someone whom she loves dearly. Mere even named her very first doll "Ruthie!" As for the last name, we decided to stick with Benfield! haha
Tell us what you think!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
