Sunday Superthoughts: Success Is...

Hey everybody!

Without naming names, one of my favorite couples have been trying and trying to have a baby, and even getting procedures done to help them conceive. This has been going on month after month after month. They've been trying for years.

Years.

Yet, they don't give up.

My heart breaks for them every month when Mere or I muster the courage to ask them how their situation is going. And you know what? I have even felt guilty for all our own joy of getting pregnant (as you know, we had very little trouble).

This situation reminded me of one of my favorite poems by Emily Dickinson, "Success is counted sweetest."

As much as I already adore Cece, our unborn daughter who is 21 weeks old in Mere's belly, I can't think of how much more I could love her had I been forced to wait... month after month... even year after year.

But I do have an inkling... NOW.

My sweet friends are expecting!!

TWINS!

I'm obviously overjoyed for them and their growing family, and know how much more they are going to love their little ones after so much heartbreak, so much work, so much hardship, and so much anticipation.

While it's never fun to lose... or wait... I have to admit that it does make it so much sweeter.

Talk to you soon,
Dale

P.S. For all those Hog fans out there... you could just imagine how 1) LA-Monroe felt after upsetting their first ever top ranked team and 2) how great it will feel after such devastation when we are once again on top. Go Hogs!
I made one for you, too...
