Hey everybody!
If you follow Mere or me on Instagram, you know we just returned from a relaxing trip to Napa Valley for Valentine's Day. If you don't follow us, what are you waiting for? ;)
While Mere was getting her Valentine's Day massage as my little treat to her, I ran out and shot some images (my treat to myself - after all these years, I still honestly LOVE to shoot!). I played around with some film settings and love the final product of these images:
This shot is of the door leading into The French Laundry (my most favorite restaurant in the entire world, by my favorite chef in the entire world). From a photographer standpoint, notice the detail that is brought out even in the shadow areas of the image...

This is Thomas Keller's garden, across the street from The French Laundry. I'm a sucker for fog, and love looking off into the distance here.

This shot's a little more dramatic. This vineyard was right outside Yountville. Again with the fog, I purposely underexposed this image for a cool effect. :)

This shot is so simple, but it's toning and texture is insane. I could stare at this one forever. I shot this outside the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone (a VERY cool locale, y'all!).

I started shooting more than 15 years ago, and still love photographing more than anything... and I feel so fortunate that photography is not only my job, but my deepest and oldest passion. Thanks for checking in! I appreciate you!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
