Hey everybody!
While you all were figuring out how to deal with the crazy weather, I was off to Las Vegas for WPPI (ouch, right?!). The annual convention and tradeshow for wedding photographers is always such a blast because of the time we get to spend with our industry friends. I spent, once again, all my time with my photo bff JP Elario (center, below), and a lot of good quality time with my friends from dropitModern (the dude on the right below is JP's dad, Joe... such a cool dad!)
I also once again helped JP with his platform class #marketingswagger - a packed room!
We also took a tour of Zappos - one of the coolest places to work in the world! It was super informative and totally fun! (I'm a huge Zappos nerd, if you remember from my book review of Delivering Happiness, by Tony Hsieh)
And as always, Vegas is synonymous with good food for me! Here are some collages I put up on Instagram of my foodie travels from this Vegas trip:
Javier's was insanely good Mexican food (and Mexican isn't my favorite). I had a great time with my friends from Miller's Lab, and always feel so honored to be treated to dinner!
Per Mere's recommendation we ate at Todd English P.U.B. I was on a lobster kick this trip, and Todd English had a mean lobster roll, but the REAL treat was the junk chips!
The meal I was most looking forward to: Sage at Aria has some really unique items: Foie gras custard brulee, foie gras ice cream, etc. I tried and I loved!
One of my very favorite restaurants is Holsteins (it's not crazy expensive, and has super approachable food). Below you'll see fried bacon (yep!), lobster roll, asian sliders, ahi poke, and cuban street tacos. They also serve adult shakes, but I didn't want to waste stomach space.
All in all, it was a fun trip, but since Mere had to cancel her ticket and keep Cece home, I found myself thinking about home a lot. Now that I'm back home (to snow and cold), I am a happy guy!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
