Little Rock Wedding of Taylor and Brett

Hey everybody!

I don't even know where to begin with this wedding. There were moments when even I teared up... and there were details that even I was blown away by... and y'all... this is what I do every week!
Spring and love were definitely in the air in Little Rock for Taylor and Brett's wedding.  I loved Taylor's color palette, and used the spring outside to accentuate it.  One of my favorite shoe pics (oh, and fave pair of shoes) is below...

Isn't this what photography is all about? What a special moment.

A dad waiting to walk his daughter down the aisle.  Look at the sweetness on his face. Absolutely precious.

Gorgeous candlelight really set a beautiful mood for the nuptials.

A sparkler leave from the church is one of my favorite things - it's not crazy dark so you can see so much more.

En route to the reception at Little Rock Country Club...

Oh wait... forgot to put in this sweet portrait of our couple (more of these are hitting the blog soon - keep coming back!).

Little Rock Country Club Reception of Taylor and Brett

Hey everybody!

I'm picking up where I left off yesterday... just look at these soft and sweet details! The flowers were divine, and everywhere I looked I saw beautiful things!

Before we went in to the reception at Little Rock Country Club, we grabbed a night shot of our couple with Little Rock behind them! One of my favorites!

I really loved their first dance. Taylor and Brett are equal parts fun and sweet, and so was their dance.

I can't say enough about both Brett and Taylor's moms... truly Southern ladies at their finest! They adored each other, and we adored them!

Haha... selfie time.

Then it was time to party! This was a huge dancing crowd, which always makes the night so fun!

Most good parties end like this.  Haha!

Make sure to come back tomorrow for their beautiful portraits, y'all!

Hey everybody!

I just love these portraits! We had just enough time built into the schedule to shoot portraits, and then again as we arrived to the reception. Taylor and Brett were great, as expected, and we found some great little backgrounds for our couple. Take a peek...

Hey everybody!

I feel like I've known Leigh for years... maybe because she reminds me of Meredith: sweet, southern, classy...
When she sent me her outfits and ideas for her engagement session with Jake, I got super excited! Classy and timeless outfits with a strong black and white feel... and all our pre-planning paid off! We shot until the sun set over Lake Village (a gorgeous and charming town), and here are some of our favorites from the session.

Tulsa Engagement Portraits of Laura Beth and Andy

Hey everybody!
Let's talk for a second about great smiles.  During my recent engagement session in Tulsa of Andy and Laura Beth, Andy told me to let him know if he was smiling too much.  As adorable and endearing as that was, I started noticing how truly happy he looks when he smiles.  And Laura Beth kept making him smile - and he'd smile at her even when he was supposed to be looking at me (which I loved!)
It all reminded me of why I love doing what I do.  I record these sweet moments for couples, and love doing so. I've gotten pretty good at, but more than that I think what I do best is to make couples feel comfortable enough to love and smile with each other in front of me. It truly is a blessing to do this every day; I've very thankful!
Alright... enough sap from me... let's get some from Laura Beth and Andy!

Field Day Wedding Shower for Kirsten and Jordan

Hey everybody!

Today Meredith and I got to celebrate the upcoming wedding of our best friends! Kirsten and Jordan have become so close with us and when Meredith was asked to be Kirsten's matron-of-honor, she knew she wanted to throw an out-of-the-box shower for her. So, we decided to have a Field Day!  We joined forces with Todd and Sarah Gill, and Zac and Kelly Stuckey, and with a last minute effort by Meg Hulsey... everything came together as planned.

First up, we got the Instagramming underway...

Oh, these kids. Zac and Kelly Stuckey (from Crown Beauty Bar) are hilarious and such great company!

A little 3-legged-race to get things started on the right foot (yeah, I did that).

Joshie-poo and Chelsey brought Beck! I was so happy to see their sweet family!

It was boys vs. girls in the toilet-paper-wedding-dress contest.  The girls obviously won.

The bouquet sealed the deal.

Which Natalie caught!  We're shooting her wedding next June (that makes four Benny Brides in this picture - Lauren, Meg, and Chelsey are the other three)

Then it was time for the good ol' fashioned egg toss.  Everybody was so good we ended up throwing them overhand, and then backwards-over-our-heads. Finally, the boys won.

Next up was the ever-hilarious Tennisball/neck relay.  Two of my favorite people, Katelyn and Alex are losing it... even with Kate's help in the background (totally cracks me up!)

Morgan and Lindsey have good form though.

But not as good as Jordan and Curtis, who brought home the win for the boys.

The next game we picked just for the embarrassment factor.  Dressing in clothes of the opposite sex--then run down and back--relay was hilarious...

And the best and worst moment of the day happened: Jordan wore high heels and couldn't make it down and back.

Some group pics... team Stuckey

Team Blowers

Then the winner got to pie the other in the face.  Though, here it looks like they both won, and lost.  These two are S'CUTE!

The after picture. :) Love these two.

Jennifer and Ryan's Joplin Wedding Details and Story

Hey everybody!

Jennifer and Ryan's wedding day was pretty much perfect. The weather was fabulous, the location looked divine, and Jennifer and Ryan looked amazing.  Her soft and sweet palette was accented with jewels and bling, as you'll see below (love those shoes, and that necklace is TO DIE FOR!)

Seriously, how BEAUTIFUL is Jennifer!  She's just a beautiful on the inside as well.  Easily the sweetest girl we know!

I love this moment when her brother, dad, and mother had a first look of the aisle-ready bride.  Tears in eyes get me every time!

This flower girl cracked me up.  She made it a point to separate every flower petal before dropping them on the aisle.  How about that flower girl dress?!

Nothing... NOTHING beats an emotional bride.  When a bride is emotional, I know she is FEELING the words she is saying... not just repeating what she hears.

Gorgeous and blingy! Yay!

Get ready for this couple... they are getting married in November and we're super excited for their wedding (especially after witnessing their fabulous dance skills!)

Portraits are hitting the blog tomorrow!

Jennifer and Ryan's Wedding Portraits

Hey everybody!

This is easily my favorite part of any wedding day: photographing the couple alone. This day, it was more special because it was such a good friend who was getting married. We know the wedding day involves being pulled in a million different directions, hugging hundreds of different people who might only get about 15 quality seconds with the bride and groom. Mere and I are truly thankful that we get much more than that. During this portrait session we stole them away for about 15 minutes of private time, which was also great for the couple since they waited until the moment she walked down the aisle to first see each other. During this time on Jennifer and Ryan's wedding day, we were blessed with perfect weather, perfect light, and a perfect couple!

Selfie time!

Bridal Portraits With Mother, With Mother's Dress

Hey everybody!

It's not every day that I leave a shoot and think, that was something really special. Sure, I photograph new babies, proposals, and weddings... and all those are special moments and momentous occasions. But when I left Jennifer's bridal session, it was a different kind of special.

I've known Jennifer for years (as I've told you before)... and I've known her mother for years - they both came to Jennifer's senior portrait session years and years ago. They both are amazing women and I am blessed to know them. But what is truly special about this session is that I was able to capture the relationship of mother and daughter in a very powerful time in both their lives.

I don't need to discuss the personal journey Jennifer's mother has been on during the past few months, but I do want to say that I love photography because I'm able to record moments and memories like these that live on for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to see. These pictures are precious to me, and I hope they are precious to Jennifer and her mother as well.

This is Jennifer in her mother's wedding dress. So special.

Of course, they had good subjects - Brekken looked amazing and her details were fabulous! Don't you love the soft and sweet color palette? Oh, and don't you love Seth's Hulk groom's cake? Nice!

Love this!

Soft and sweet!

This totally cracked me up - I love it so much!

Cool close up of the cake cutting. (oh, hello alliteration!)

Hey everybody!

I have to admit, I'm surrounded by females both in my family and in my line of work...so you shouldn't be too surprised when I tell you I watched the Miss USA pageant with my girls! I'm not sure I'd ever really watched it before but I was excited this year because I had the honor of photographing Miss Arkansas USA earlier this year! I showed Ellie (and Cece) a couple images of Helen so we could spot her on tv! In the shoot she's modeling a fabulous wedding gown from Tesori Bridal and sparkly jewels from Romance Diamond Company. What a beauty!! See what I did there? ha.
Congratulations on a major life accomplishment, Helen!

Hey everybody!

Usually I combine the details and story into one post. However, today's featured wedding is so unique I don't want you skipping over any of the details. The color palette of having the wedding reception at the Georgia State Railroad Museum was so romantic with its dark and deep tones. I seriously LOVE this place!

Savannah Honey was such a perfect and appropriate wedding favor!  Don't you love the mood and lighting of this scene?

The sweet story will be on the blog tomorrow!  Check back y'all!

Hey everybody!

First off, if you haven't seen Anna and Parke's Savannah wedding details, keep scrolling once you finish this post - they are definitely one-of-a-kind and totally to-die-for!

On Anna's wedding day, she was the perfect blend of fun and sappy. I love an emotional bride (you know that!), and I love a bride who loves to have fun (you also know that)... she's the perfect mix of the two!

Anna and her girls got ready at the Mansion on Forsyth Park (we stayed there, and it was breathtaking!).  Here's our girl getting ready...

During the ceremony, Anna both cried...

And laughed (look at Parke getting emotional - how sweet!!)

This location is one of the most unique and breathtaking I've ever photographed... and I've been all around the world!  It truly was a DREAM!

There is something about the Spanish Moss hanging from the trees, the fountain in the background... this is just a perfect location for a wedding (if you can't tell, I fell in love with Savannah Georgia while I was there).

Meredith and Will thought they'd reenact the couple's reaction during the ceremony.  Silly kids.

Here are a few portraits taken in Forsyth park before and after the wedding ceremony.  More of these in the coming days!

As Parke's dad gave a toast and Parke shed a couple happy tears. I LOVE this moment!

Will performed a little happy dance...

Kirsten and Jordan's Engagement Portraits {Mere's faves}

Hey everybody!

It's MEREDITH!! It was so hard to pick my favorite images from this shoot because I love every single stinkin' frame! I usually don't have trouble but I finally realized it's because I love the people IN the images so much! Kirsten and Jordan are some of our very best friends and when I see a pic of Kirsten laughing or Jordan with a silly look on his face, it makes me happy! I'm so, so, so excited for their wedding, and for them to begin their life together! I can't stop smiling even as I type this post! These images are of two GREAT people. The kind of people everyone deserves to have in their life. The kind of people I thank God every day for.

Kirsten and Jordan's Engagement Portraits {Dale's Favorites}

Hey everybody!

One of the best sounds you'll ever hear in the world is of Kirsten Blowers laughing. When she's around Jordan, she does it all the time! You might know Kirsten as the owner of Riffraff, or as a business genius, or as a super fashionista... maybe you follow her on IG or fb. I know her as one of my closest friends, and let me say: I've never seen her happier. What I love most about her relationship with Jordan is that he balances her out. I don't mean that he's the yin and she's the yang. What I mean is that he reminds her to be silly sometimes when she gets caught up in the busy-ness of life. She's lucky to have that... to have him. He's become one of my close friends as well - one of the only people I can be 100 percent myself around, and let me tell you... he's just as deserving. I'm so happy for them, excited for them, and proud of them.

When we had the daunting task of photographing their engagements, Meredith and I wanted to do something unique... but understated. We chose a location that was nondescript but you don't see it everyday. We wanted to shoot something that looked timeless and fully of class... images that would withstand the test of time (like our couple). I love what Meredith and I created here, and I hope you do too!

What I Love About Being a Dad

$

Hey everybody!

Today was a great day. After getting up early in Tulsa and making the drive back to Fayetteville, I got all my girls in the car and headed off to the pool. Ellie loves to swim; she has since her first time in the water. Mere also loves the pool, and Cece is following in both their footsteps. My favorite thing about being a dad is just hanging out with my girls. We don't have to do special things... what I enjoy most is sitting around and being silly, which we all are a lot.

I admit that I'm one of the luckiest guys I know, because I have three amazing girls who adore me. Happy Father's Day!
