Hey everybody!

Sam and Codi have a really sweet love story, and are... in general... one of the sweetest couples we've ever shot. When Mere got attacked by bees just before their first look, (true story!) they took time out of their portrait session to run us by a CVS for some benadryl. We of course built in extra time to the schedule so we still got a bazillion pretty portraits, but isn't that so selfless of them? I love couples who look out for others!  Anyway, here are some of my favorite portraits...















And we brought their pup in for a couple! What a cutie pie!

Hey everybody!

We've made it to the story of Codi and Sam's wedding. It was such a sweet day. Fall was in full swing at their charming Kansas City venue, and the temperature was beyond perfect.

We scouted this spot for Codi and Sam's first meeting. It's such a dream!

What a pretty group of ladies, and bouquets!

Mere is the best at capturing these great moments with brides and dads. Love this just before she walks down the aisle to her groom.

Vow time. So special.



Fall brides... take note... I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the idea of throwing fall leaves on the couple! It's not messy, it looks beautiful, and it's good for the environment! Oh, and free! Fall brides now have no excuse not to do this!

Mere got artsy with their first dance pic, which was a cool way to show off the venue a little. I was down below getting my dance shot.

Her dad was truly a sweetheart. Love this daddy/daughter dance moment.

Cody and Erin are the quintessential Benny couple! They are fun, fabulous, and fashionable. They were up for anything, and our session flew by because we were having so much fun.  The truth is, these two are crazy about each other and it shows (in the pictures too)! Hey everybody!

Other photographers are the easiest people to photograph! For the most part, they already know how to post, but most importantly, they respect your artistic process. They're also up for whatever goofball idea I happen to have. :)

When Kenny and I were planning his family session, he mentioned his sweet little daughter might need to warm up to me - that's not a new thing... pretty much 100 percent of kids need a little time to get used to the strange dude telling them what to do and pointing a camera at them.  But it took no time at all really, and she ended up being my best friend. We truly had a FUN time shooting!

I woke up in the middle of the night before the session and this image came to my brain - three little faces peeking out from a pile of leaves.  The family was all about entertaining my idea, and I just LOVE this image!

Hey everybody!

When I get to a shoot, I normally ask if my subject is nervous. I realize that 99 percent of people are somewhat (or completely) nervous when they're about to have their picture taken. When I asked Kasey if she was nervous, she told me she wasn't at all. That got us started on the right foot! I got to jump right in and start shooting, and she was FAAAABULOUS!


Bonnie at Crown Beauty Bar did an amazing job on her hair... the wind was blowing pretty hard during the session, and the entire time Kacey's hair looked amazing. Yay for Bonnie!

Oh, and Kacey got most of her clothes at Riffraff! If you're a senior (or engaged) and looking for outfits... their clothes match our style so well!

What a dream!!

And totally cute! Right?

We had to take a selfie.  Just HAD to. Duck face, anyone?

Hey everybody!

I don't think I've ever done three posts from a senior session - congratulations Kacey! :) I just had a really difficult time narrowing down to just a few for y'all to see... I really think she did a killer job and got all the right clothes (yay Riffraff!), went to one of the best in Fayetteville for hair/makeup (yay Bonnie at Crown Beauty Bar!), and we went to some new places and did some fun things for her session!

Hey everybody!

Sam and Rowdy did an exceptional job on their wedding venue... when we photographed their engagements at their ranch in Missouri, it was in the beginning stages and they had to do most of the explanations verbally about what their vision was. I remember thinking, "whoa... that seems like a lot of work!" I was blown away by the progress at Samantha's bridals, and the finished product, Rockford Grange at Bear Hollow Ranch and Preserve, was astounding! It's such a neat, unique venue. Here's their wedding day story...

Our friend Fallon was on the scene making sure Sam looked her best...

And she was a vision!

Apparently I'm hilarious.  But you knew that. ;)  Love this girl pic!

I do well under pressure. In time crunches I thrive. Exhibit A is with Sam and Rowdy's wedding portraits. The ceremony ended later than everybody expected, and the sun was setting FAST. Hey everybody!

I'm ga-ga for Katie and Ethan's wedding! The gold details with gorgeous sprayed pumpkins brought fall into full effect and was oh-so fancy! Seriously... fancy. It's like a fall wonderland!


Her dress was stunning as well. The back is to-die-for... but you have to wait to see that! :)

Tanarah Luxe Florals from Little Rock came up to do Katie's flowers. Here's her dreamy bouquet:

I just couldn't get over all the beautiful pumpkins as wedding details. This arrangement was kind of awesome!



The town center was transformed beautifully by the Bates Team!

A perfect pumpkin centerpiece!

My favorite detail from the wedding reception was the hanging cake table. It made such a statement! Also, I love how the theme tied all together with their pumpkin cake topper. Too dreamy!
